2010 Reserve Pinot Noir, Green Valley
Learn more about this sold out wine!
Our reserve Pinot Noir is made from grapes grown in a small, one-half acre, vineyard in Green Valley; near the Russian River town of Forestville. Our “reserve” wines are extremely small lots that we find to be so exceptional that we refuse to blend the two barrels into a larger blend.
The 2010 vintage was cool , with a late harvest and a heatwave that shriveled more than a few vineyards. Green Valley is one of the coolest pockets of Sonoma County and did not suffer the same heat damage as much of the county.
Aromas of spicy raspberry and dark cherry fill the glass, along with hints of toasty vanilla from the 18 months of barrel aging. Flavors of cherry and strawberry burst with a finish that begs for another sip. This wine is extremely well balanced, with an intensity of flavor as well as a complexity that reveals new flavors and aromas with each sip. Drink within the next 5 years.
