2014 Estate Zinfandel, Hawley Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley

This block of Zinfandel was planted on our estate in 2007 from cuttings of an old, local Zinfandel clones known as “Rockpile Clone” or “Cloverdale Church Clone.” The Vineyard is certified organic and grown without the use of chemical fertilizer, pesticides or herbicides. This block is a field blend planted with 92% Zinfandel and 8% Petite Sirah that is picked together and then co-fermented in small open-top tanks. Our 2014 Zinfandel was barrel aged in French oak for 18 months, longer than any other Zin that we make. Enjoy the intense, dark cherry and blackberry aroma with wonderful nutmeg and vanilla undertones. Well-structured with a tannic backbone and lingering acidity. This wine has had some time to age in the bottle and is tasting incredibly smooth!
