2015 Reserve Nebbiolo, Camporelli Vineyard

Gold Medal - SF Chronicle

New Release for December 2018 Wine Club Members!

2015 is the first year we made Nebbiolo and there is only a handful of acres planted in Sonoma County. It is an exciting grape to work with because it is so unique. It is a late ripening grape and is always the last vineyard we pick. It needs extensive aging to soften the structure and acidity. Nebbiolo is not for the impatient but it's worth the wait!

Tasting Notes

Bright cranberry, cherry, jam, rose hip, pepper, and anise.

Production Notes

Less than 170c produced

Winemaker Notes

Our first vintage of this unique variety. The tannin and acid structure naturally occurring in this grape variety make it necessary to age for about two years in the barrel to soften and mellow before bottling.
