2015 Rosé, Dry Creek Valley
We're sure any of you who got to try our inaugural Rosé from 2013 are just as excited we are for this new release! John says Zinfandel makes the best Rosé, and after the last two wonderful vintages, we agree! We chose the Shippey Vineyard specifically for our 2015 Rosé. It is right next door to our estate and belongs to our cousins!
The Hawley boys initially crushed the grapes and then in the press allowed them to sit with the skins. The longer you leave the skins in contact with the juice the darker the wine will get. We left them for around half an hour to achieve the final beautiful salmon color. After that the Rosé was tank fermented to capture the fresh fruit flavors of the Zinfandel.
This year’s Rosé is dry, light and bright with notes of wild strawberry and watermelon. Pair with swimming pool, lounge chair and sunglasses. Add food as desired.
