2015 was another warm summer in Sonoma County. In the vineyard, we had to leave more leaf canopy to protect the clusters from sun burn. Harvest came a week or two earlier than “normal”, but we have not had a normal season in years. Warm dry winter and spring led to early bud-break, leading to harvest beginning in August. We fermented this wine using techniques that my brother and I gathered in New Zealand, including stainless steel fermentation. The temperature control of tank fermentation develops intense fruit aromas and keeps the wine crisp and clean. Crisp and clean, this wine shows bright aromas of tropical pineapple, lychee and guava. Flavors of Kaffir lime, melon and stone-fruit with a long flavorful finish. Pair with grilled fish tacos and fresh mango salsa.
