2016 Cabernet Franc, Dry Creek Valley
Gold Medal, 94 Points - L.A. International Wine Competition
Silver Medal - SF Chronicle Wine Competition
Another fantastic Cabernet Franc release! The fruit for our 2016 Cabernet Franc came from an old-vine block which grows in the benchlands along West Dry Creek Road in the northern tip of Dry Creek Valley. The older vines yield less fruit and the fruit ripens as tiny berries. We value these small berries as there is more skin-to-juice ratio when they're crushed during harvest, which means there are more complex flavors and pigments infusing into the wine during fermentation. You could say in most cases that small berries make BIG wine!
