2018 Sparkling Viognier, Hawley Vineyard

WINE CLUB EXCLUSIVE RELEASE!

In 1983, John Hawley was one of the first winemakers to cultivate Viognier vines in the United States. Today, these 35-year-old vines thrive atop Bradford mountain and were the first of our estate fruit to ripen for the 2018 harvest. To celebrate, we made a small lot of Sparkling Viognier from these organically grown grapes! We could not be more excited about the result. The bright acidity is accompanied by stone fruit and tropical notes; which begs the question, why didn’t we make this sooner? We only made 75 cases of this fizzy delight so, as many things in life, it will be gone much too soon.
